Just picture this for a moment. You are standing in sand as white and fine as powdered sugar. You feel and hear the waves lap up onto shore, and you take a few deep breaths of the salty Florida air in complete and utter peace.
This summer I had the wonderful privilege of experiencing exactly this in Destin, Florida. My closest friends and I endured the 22 hour road trip to spend a week on the beach to celebrate our high school graduation and also to enjoy our time together before we all went separate ways for college.
While in Destin, we went parasailing, ate at Whataburger three days in a row (totally worth it, I might add), underwent sandcastle building lessons, shopped at the local outlet mall, and mostly just hung out at the beach tanning or playing frisbee.
There’s nothing quite like waking up each morning and realizing the ocean is practically in your backyard. I honestly could not have asked for a better, more rejuvenating trip. If you are looking out for a great beach destination, I definitely recommend giving Destin a try.
